Every draw is locked before it opens and decided by a Bitcoin block nobody controls, not even us. When it is done, everything is published here, so you can check the winners yourself.

How every draw works

Commit
Before entries open we publish the SHA-256 hash of a secret seed. The seed cannot change later without the hash changing too.

Freeze
When entries close we freeze the list of eligible X handles, publish its hash and name a Bitcoin block that has not been mined yet. That number never changes.
- 03
Draw
The hash of that block, unknown to anyone until it is mined, becomes the second seed. Together with ours it picks the winners, one after another.
- 04
Check
We publish the secret seed and every eligible handle. The giveaway's page reruns the draw in your browser and checks each winner.
Handles are lowercased, without "@", deduplicated and sorted. For pick k, counting from 0, we compute SHA-256(serverSeed:clientSeed:k), read the first 8 hex characters as a number and take it modulo the number of handles left. That handle is picked and leaves the pool. The first picks win, the next ones are backups, in order.
